Jerry Bailey has lived his entire life in the Zearing community. He is a Zearing High School class of 1956 alum. It was there he meet his sweet bride, Norma Nordstrom, and they were married in 1961.
After graduation Jerry joined the Navy, where he served for 3 years before returning home to work at Herndons. It was at that time that Jerry felt his calling for public service and joined the Zearing Fire Deptartment where he has been a member for over 50 years and is still an active member. He has also been a volunteer with Zearing First Responders for the last 20+ years, on the Zearing Planning and Zoning Committee for 24 years and is acting president of the ZEARING Alumni Banquet.
Jerry is owner and operator of Jerry's Body Shop and Jerry's Sanitation and rolloff containers. Jerry is the one that keeps Zearing all cleaned up every week with his garbage service.
Norma worked for over 20 years at Colonial manor of Zearing before retirement. She still keeps active, helping Jerry every week on the garbage route.
Jerry and Norma have two sons. Stuart Bailey and wife Joannie of Zearing and son Devon Bailey also of Zearing.
Jerry and Norma are also members of the Zearing Christian Church.
